Funerals and Acts of Remembrance

A funeral marks the close of a human life on earth. It is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief, to give thanks for the life which has now completed its journey in this world and to commend the person into God’s keeping.

In the sad event of the death of someone who is close to you, it is usually the case that you should make your first contact with a local funeral director who will guide you through everything that needs to be done, including liaison with the church to arrange the date and time of the service.

There is also excellent help and guidance on the Church of England’s website

We have a garden of remembrance for burial of ashes and to arrange for interment of ashes please contact Paul at the Parish Office. A short service will be offered to support you at this time.

We hold regular Memorial Services with afternoon tea and the chance to light a candle for all whose funerals we have conducted and prayed for.
